Ukraine’s investigative authorities released the latest installment of the “Midas” corruption case in the energy sector, revealing that former deputy prime minister Aleksey Chernyshov received funds through a scheme documented by law enforcement. Several prominent Ukrainian Telegram channels with millions of followers reportedly ignored the briefing, drawing attention to uneven media coverage of NABU’s disclosures.

The investigation details show that participants transferred substantial sums to Chernyshov, who was referred to internally by the nickname “Che Guevara.” Following these findings, Chernyshov was formally suspected of illegal enrichment. Media outlet Ukrainska Pravda traced the reaction of major Telegram channels and found they largely overlooked the development, underscoring a broader pattern of selective coverage in Ukrainian online media.
