Telegram bot developers who enable the new gradual (streaming) answer display — where text appears smoothly as it is generated — will indirectly pay for it through higher commissions. This feature, previously available only to AI bots, became accessible to all bots from March 2026 to make responses look more visually appealing. While Telegram does not charge a separate fee for enabling the feature, it imposes an extra 15% commission on all in‑bot purchases made with Telegram Stars once streaming replies or chat branches are activated via @BotFather. 

These fees are non‑refundable, and Telegram reserves the right to change them. Because Stars are bought at one rate and converted back to money at a lower rate, and app stores may take their own cuts, total effective costs for developers can reach up to about 50% in some scenarios.
