A planned rally in Novosibirsk on March 1 against the blocking of Telegram and the “forced installation of Max” ultimately did not take place. According to Kommersant, access routes to the protest site near the Globus Theatre were cordoned off with warning tape, with authorities citing an inspection of trees in the adjoining square as the reason.

Workers from the municipal landscaping service used chainsaws to trim branches, effectively preventing people from entering the park, while police officers further restricted access. Politician Sergei Krupenko, who had formally notified officials about the rally, urged attendees to disperse when it became clear the event could not proceed. Nevertheless, more than ten people, including Krupenko himself, were detained and taken away in a police van parked next to the square.
