Mobile Internet Outage in Russia Disrupts Telegram

On 10 December, residents of multiple Russian regions, including Krasnodar Krai, reported significant problems accessing mobile internet and a number of popular online services. Users complained about disruptions in the networks of major operators such as MTS, Megafon, Tele2 and Beeline. For MTS, around 16% of all outage reports came from Krasnodar Krai, while Megafon saw roughly 14% of its complaints from the region. 

Tele2 and Beeline also experienced issues, with Kuban accounting for about 9% and 12% of user reports respectively. Among the services with access difficulties were messengers like WhatsApp* (owned by Meta*, banned as an extremist organization in Russia), Telegram and the Russian messenger MAX, with 8% of WhatsApp-related complaints and 6% of Telegram complaints attributed to Krasnodar Krai, and 11% of MAX issues coming from the region.
