Pavel Durov Allegedly Helps “Natalnaya Karta” Star Recover Hijacked Telegram Account

Comedian and actor Dmitry Zhuravlev, host of the show “Natalnaya Karta,” says that in March scammers hijacked his personal Instagram and Telegram accounts by reissuing his SIM card with a fake passport in his name. After gaining control, they threatened his wife Elena with publishing their intimate correspondence and demanded money, which the couple refused to pay. Zhuravlev filed a police report and contacted his mobile operator, which explained the SIM-swap scheme.

However, he could not restore Telegram access because malware on the channel instantly entered incorrect login codes, blocking recovery. In October, while in London, Zhuravlev met blogger-agency head Kirill Didenok, who introduced him to Belarusian IT specialists. One of them phoned a certain “Pasha,” widely assumed to be Telegram founder Pavel Durov, and within about 20 minutes Zhuravlev’s Telegram account was restored.
