Polygon to Upgrade to USDT0 Standard for Unified Liquidity

Polygon is integrating USDT0 and XAUT0, omnichain stablecoins based on LayerZero’s OFT standard, enhancing cross-chain liquidity. This upgrade allows seamless interoperability for Tether’s USDT and gold-backed XAUT across chains without changing contract addresses.

The expansion onto Polygon—its 11th supported chain—aims to leverage the network’s strong DeFi activity and large user base for stablecoin transactions. According to USDT0’s team, the move supports Polygon’s growing role in institutional-grade asset adoption and omnichain liquidity.
