Novosibirsk Regional Legislative Assembly deputy Darya Karaseva proposed that Telegram CEO Pavel Durov establish the messenger’s office in Novosibirsk. She highlighted Akademgorodok’s potential as Russia’s own Silicon Valley, boasting a strong scientific base and IT cluster.

“Dear Pavel Durov! We in Siberia would be delighted if Telegram opened an office in Novosibirsk. Akademgorodok has everything to create our Silicon Valley: powerful scientific foundation and IT cluster. We also greatly value your contributions to internet development and want it to continue,” Karaseva wrote.

Her initiative coincides with Russians actively signing an open letter urging Durov to open a Telegram representative office in Russia amid regulatory pressures and service disruptions.
