Official agencies and departments are increasingly abandoning Telegram, with regional branches of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) leading the trend. According to PrimaMedia on January 6, EMERCOM offices in Primorsky Krai and Sverdlovsk Oblast have announced they are ceasing channel operations.

Primorsky EMERCOM’s final post on January 5 expressed regret: “The moment of change has arrived. We regretfully inform you that our Telegram channel is ending its work. We sincerely thank you for being with us, for your support, attention, and trust—this means a lot to us!”

This mass departure signals a broader shift, with agencies likely redirecting to alternative platforms amid evolving digital communication policies.
