According to a 2025 study by Kaspersky Lab, Russians interested in cybersecurity news trust Telegram channels the most (39%), followed by television (32%), and Russian news websites (24%). The study surveyed media consumption habits and found that short posts (66%) and video content like TV shows and documentaries (56%) are the preferred formats. 

Articles and longer texts attract 27% of respondents, while 20% listen to podcasts or audio materials. Overall, television and Telegram channels are the most trusted information sources among Russians, each trusted by 33% of respondents. Other trusted sources include news websites, browser news feeds, and video platforms. 

Artificial intelligence tools and chatbots are trusted by only 7%, with cautions about misinformation risks. Most users passively consume news on main pages or recommended collections, with fewer actively searching for specific topics.
