Telegram has become the most downloaded Android application in the Kingdom at the start of the New Year, signalling the country’s rapidly evolving digital landscape and the app’s rising influence in daily communication. According to the latest figures from digital intelligence platform Similarweb, the messenger outperformed several long-established apps, reinforcing its expanding role in messaging, social commerce, and community engagement across the country.

Ranking behind Telegram were Meta Messenger, Facebook, the online game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, ACLEDA’s mobile banking app, ABA Mobile, TikTok, CapCut – Video Editor, and Wing Bank. Similarweb’s data also pointed to strong user interest in shopping and e-commerce platforms.
