Two-thirds (66%) of small and medium-sized business owners surveyed by Ifros report getting industry news updates primarily from Telegram channels, up 8% from 2022. This reflects Telegram’s growing dominance as a fast, direct news delivery platform for entrepreneurs.

Other key sources include news aggregators (64%), TV programs (47%), specialized services like the Federal Tax Service or Central Bank (47%), social networks (36%), and print magazines (12%). Traditional media websites saw declining interest over three years: RBC mentions dropped from 58% to 54%, Vedomosti from 35% to 27%, Kommersant from 39% to 27%, and TASS from 41% to 24%.

Ifros notes that business information consumption is shifting to “digital and channel-based” formats, prioritizing daily, real-time updates across multiple channels over single dominant sources.
