Around 57% of Russian Telegram channels have opened accounts on the national messenger Max, yet their audiences there are more than 60 times smaller: 1.4 million users versus 87 million on Telegram. In Q4 2025, the most popular topics on Telegram were “News & Media,” “Hobbies & Activities,” and “Internet Technologies,” while Max was dominated by “News & Media,” “Food & Cooking,” and “Politics.” Overlap in the top‑10 channels by subscribers across both platforms remains limited. 

For example, the “Solovyov” political channel ranks eighth on Telegram with 1.2 million subscribers but second on Max with 377.4 thousand; “Dmitry Medvedev” holds third place on both, with 1.8 million and 184.1 thousand subscribers respectively. Experts note that major admins do create “mirror” channels in Max, but audiences are not migrating en masse, reducing ad demand and pricing there.
