Telegram is testing a new “gift crafting” feature that adds casino‑style mechanics to its virtual gifts. Users will be able to combine up to four gifts into one in hopes of receiving a rarer item, but the process carries a real risk of loss: crafted gifts can simply “burn” and disappear, especially when merging only two items, where the failure chance is highest. 

When crafting succeeds, the new gift inherits the ID of the first selected item, and if all four inputs share the same color, that color is guaranteed in the result; otherwise, attributes are determined randomly. Crafted gifts cannot be reused in further crafting, and gifts previously minted as TON‑based NFTs may be incompatible. The feature is still inactive and may change, including possible paid crafting or added restrictions.
