Telegram has rolled out a two-year Premium subscription plan, inviting users in Russia to purchase an extended license at 2,990 rubles. The offer provides a cheaper alternative to renewing yearly or paying monthly, and is currently limited to Russian users. 

An update notes that existing subscriptions can upgrade to the two-year plan when the current term ends, while gifts cannot be upgraded to two years. This move suggests Telegram’s strategy to lock in longer-term revenue amid ongoing monetization efforts, though availability in other countries remains uncertain. The two-year option may broaden access to Premium features, such as higher upload limits, faster speeds, and exclusive content, while also testing demand for long-term commitments.
