Telegram is introducing a premium feature allowing users to send “undecipherable” voice messages that bypass text conversion, ensuring recipients must listen to recordings. This addresses complaints about ignored voice notes, with users limited to 10 such “important” messages daily (max 10 minutes each).

Messages autoplay upon device unlock and cannot be paused or transcribed. A source confirmed the move forces engagement: “Now interlocutors can’t skip listening.”

Future plans include a super-premium tier to block these messages, though implementation is delayed 6-12 months to “let users fully enjoy the feature first.”
