Premium-exclusive items like Durov’s Sunglasses (5,000 units) and Resistance Dog (20,000 units) vanished in just 15 seconds despite purchase limits of 3 and 5 per user respectively.

Reports emerged of users exploiting bots to bypass limits, with one account acquiring over 100 Resistance Dogs. This follows user complaints about automated purchasing tools during previous gift launches.

The sale coincided with record “Star” cryptocurrency purchases by “whales,” suggesting coordinated bulk buying ahead of the anniversary drop. Telegram faces renewed criticism over its anti-bot measures.
