TON Foundation CEO Max Crown has publicly called on Telegram’s Pavel Durov to shift gift features entirely onto blockchain and adopt TON as the default payment method. Crown emphasized that storing gifts on-chain would enhance user asset security while letting profiles display ownership.

The move would also help Telegram combat mass gift refunds exploited by fraudsters. Crown cited Apple’s updated U.S. crypto policies—which now permit in-app blockchain transactions—as a timely opportunity.

This follows Apple’s May guideline revisions after its legal loss to Epic Games, initially allowing NFT transactions in U.S. apps.
