Despite ongoing pressure to ban Telegram in Ukraine, the platform saw explosive growth in 2025: Ukrainians increased payments fourfold to over UAH 30 million per month, from UAH 7 million in June 2024, according to monobank data cited in the Telemetrio study. While YouTube still leads total spending, Telegram shows the fastest growth. Ukrainian channel subscriptions surged 676% since 2021—a 7.7-fold increase—with 127,032 channels now active, concentrated in Kyiv (1,659), Dnipropetrovsk (914), and Odesa (701) regions.

Businesses heavily rely on Telegram for communication, with about 60% of business channels bearing official platform verification. The study underscores Telegram’s transformation into Ukraine’s key digital payments and media hub amid regulatory scrutiny.
