Lifetime Limit on Stories for Non‑Premium Users

Some Telegram users without a Premium subscription in regions such as Russia, Ukraine, and several European countries have discovered that they can no longer post stories. The app tells them that publishing stories is only available to Premium subscribers, even though others still use the feature for free. According to observations by @tginfo editors, non‑Premium users can only publish stories for free while their total number of stories ever posted is under three.

This cumulative counter includes all stories ever created on the account: those posted when stories first appeared and were free, deleted stories, and stories made while an active Premium subscription was in place. Once the three‑story threshold is reached, the app requires Premium to publish new stories. Developers have confirmed this is intentional behavior, not a bug, and it applies in regions where stories were introduced as a paid feature.
