Telegram is automatically flagging posts spreading a false story from satirical outlet Panorama.pub claiming Pavel Durov announced Telegram’s withdrawal from Russia. Warning labels stating “Durov did not make such statements” appear, even on posts admitting the story is false. This automated fact-checking feature, first spotted in code a year ago, currently seems visible only to accounts registered with Russian numbers.
