Pavel Durov recently announced the testing of new features designed to expand the messenger’s social and business potential. Users in Khabarovsk, who rely on Telegram for communication and news, have expressed reservations about these updates. Among the innovations are live broadcasts within Stories, enabling real-time streaming by users and channels, and the introduction of an auction mechanism for limited edition gifts. 

Notably, the first auction saw the animated Telegram Plane icon sold for a record 18 million rubles to Canadian entrepreneur Jason Falovitch. While these enhancements reflect Telegram’s push to diversify its platform, local bloggers predict that live streaming in Stories may not catch on widely within the region, suggesting that cautious attitudes could limit adoption of the new features.
