Cocoon, the new decentralized confidential compute network associated with Telegram’s ecosystem, has launched and begun handling real user AI requests with full data privacy. Built on The Open Network (TON), Cocoon allows GPU owners to contribute their computing power and earn Toncoin in return, creating a distributed marketplace for AI inference. 

The project positions itself as an alternative to centralized cloud providers such as Amazon and Microsoft, which it criticizes as costly intermediaries that also pose privacy risks. With the mainnet live, the team plans to rapidly onboard more GPU supply and attract developers to run AI workloads on Cocoon. Telegram is expected to integrate Cocoon to power new AI features while keeping user data confidential, aiming to return control and privacy to end users.
